Integration of risk analysis methods in aerospace research projects

Organizations are exposed to several types of risks, such as environmental, legal, operational, financial, and technological; that subjected epistemic uncertainty. In this context, a contemporary issue is how deal with accidents, greater difficulty in understanding the sociotechnical system, due its complex dynamic characteristics, an attempt prevent accidents based on components’ behavior. Although, for most systems projects, record exposure hazards incomplete or nonexistent, especially when it highly innovative. This study developed risk analysis framework aerospace research projects by integrating different methods: problem structuring, safety control action analysis, prioritization results. Three methods proposed: (1) Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) initial review situation, preliminary identification losses; (2) Systems-Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA), identify Unsafe Control Actions (UCAs) their causal scenarios; (3), Preferences Sorting Technique Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS Fuzzy) UCAs mitigating scenarios. proposal was applied Liquid Propulsion Injection Laboratory (CEPROS), and, through SSM, 7 4 losses were found. On other hand, STPA method found 15 loops 48 106 end, recommended Decision Maker establishes cut-off criterion, is, Hierarchy Management identified UCAs. The proposed follow line systems, considering decision-maker projects. Thus, work presents structure covering entire management process, increasing fulfilling mission level complexity project, supporting strategies coordinated decision-making.
